Holding Space in Times of Tragedy
The eBoard of the Asian Faculty and Staff Association will be holding space for anyone processing the recent tragic events impacting Monterey Park, Half Moon Bay, Oakland, Atlanta, Memphis, and all across the country. All faculty, students, and staff are welcome. Quiet reflection space, snacks, and opportunities to be in community will be available, along with limited counseling support, provided as necessary.

A Conversation with Bao Johri
The Asian Faculty and Staff Association is pleased to host a virtual conversation with Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, Bao Johri. Learn more about her role on campus and professional journey, as well as how she navigates being a Hmong American leader, both on campus and in the technology field.

Community Dialogue: Exploring AAPI Communities in Central California
Appreciation: Rebuilding a Sense of Community Through (Visual) Stories
Over the past years, the number of anti-Asian crimes has continued to increase, leaving many Asian communities challenged by ongoing issues. To address this, the Asian Faculty and Staff Association (AFSA) is pleased to host a two-part series of AAPI Community Dialogues this semester, featuring the unique stories and perspectives of those in the AAPI community.

Both virtual events are free and open to the campus and local community, and are sponsored by the Asian Faculty and Staff Association, the Center for Creativity and Arts, California Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Through these events, AFSA hopes to increase understanding of the multicultural and global society in which we live.
